Having a problem? Refer to the descriptions below to troubleshoot error messages you may see on nytimes.com/passes.

  1. PAYWALL POP-UP:
    This is displayed when first-time users have not yet claimed an Academic Pass, or when returning users are not logged in to the NYTimes.com account associated with their Academic Pass. To claim a Pass, visit nytimes.com/passes and log in to NYTimes.com using a valid email address from your participating school.
  2. EMAIL ADDRESS NOT ELIGIBLE:
    This is displayed when a user tries to claim an Academic Pass with an email address from an unauthorized domain.
  3. PASS LIMIT REACHED:
    This is displayed when all of the Passes from your school are in use.
  4. SESSION IS STILL ACTIVE:
    This is displayed when a user tries to activate another Pass while their current pass is still active.
